The Budapest Zoo is one of the most magnificent and most visited sights of Budapest. Many new attractions have been recently added to the park. The number of visitors is increasing year by year. Approximately 1 million people are curious about the zoo’s inhabitants each year.

The so called ‘Holnemvolt’ Castle, the new playground of the zoo, opened its doors in 2018. Designed specifically for families with small children, the 1.5-acre complex awaits the public with fabulous animals, animal tales, toys and experiences.

This is where the Shark school is found as well. The ‘shark school’ usually can’t be visited in most shark-raising zoos, but the Budapest Zoo designed the interiors so that the visitors can look into the pools of the young sharks through glass windows.

Moreover, the aquaristic-mechanical systems that maintain the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of seawater are operating behind glass walls, to the greatest delight of visitors interested in the technical operation.

However, the Zoo’s newest and most grandiose project, the Biodome, is still under construction and is expected to open in 2021. This futuristic building will be one of the best leisure facilities in Europe.

All in all, the Budapest Zoo has been, is and will be one of the favorite places for nature lovers, first date couples, families with children and seniors as well. You shouldn’t be the only one who misses it!
