Come to Szimpla Kert in the morning of June 3 and taste the traditional breakfasts of four countries, prepared by Czech, French, Israeli and Polish volunteers and gastro-fanatics for a common charity. The sum collected from the participation fees will be fully devoted to support the Igazgyöngy Alapítvány (The Real Pearl Foundation is a non-governmental organization with the mission to develop the communities in one of the most underprivileged regions of Hungary, near Berettyóújfalu.)

Czech breakfast – “Valašský frgál”
The Czech and Moravian cakes are among the best things that Czech cuisine has given to the world. Many varieties exist, but the most famous one is the Valašský frgál.
French Breakfast – Regional Cakes
On the occasion of the European breakfast, the French Institute of Budapest awaits guests interested in some French regions’ gastronomy. Plum, cherry, strawberries, all the fruits of the summer on one plate. This even will give you the opportunity to learn the secrets of French cuisine from Jérôme Szkuta, a French cook.
Israeli breakfast – Saksuka and other delicacies
In Israel traditionally breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
The Israeli Cultural Institute’s team will await you with saksuka tasting, made especially for this occasion.
Polish breakfast – Royal feast
Although foreign effects have formed Polish traditional breakfast, but one thing is sure to distinguish it from others: it is extremely lavish! The Poles love the richly set table for breakfast, not just on holidays. The bread (chleb) is always in the central place.
