Lumen Café hosts every night a cultural event. Moreover they are not afraid to show you the amazing variety of contemporary local and international culture.

Barre Phillips is undoubtedly one of the greatest figures of contemporary music.
Luckily, you’ve already had the chance to listen to him several times in Budapest – his concerts are always a great experience for listeners and musicians alike. Object lessons of concentration and elevation, where every single sound really has its perfect place and time.
Mr. Phillips is so committed to the genre of improvisation that in 2014, in his new chosen country, France, he founded the European Improvisation Center, which is practically an open university with international relations. Here artists and thinkers can jointly enjoy the theoretical process of creative creation and practical implementation without genre restrictions.
At Lumen Café, he now will perform a concert with three Hungarian music colleagues, the members of the Grencsó Kollektiva.

Participants: Barre Phillips, Róbert Benkő (double bass), István Grencsó (wind instruments), Miklós Szilveszter (drums and percussion)

Date and time: February 23, 2018 at 8:00 pm

Place: Lumen Café
