On the last weekend of November the annual New Wine and Cheese Festival is held in Budapest. It is the celebration of the release of the new wine. The visitors of the event can taste the latest products of the Hungarian wine makers.

This year the date is November 24, 2018. The event takes place in the Museum of Agriculture, in the beautiful Vajdahunyad Castle, built in eclectic style.

The entrance fee, which is about 12,- EUR / person, includes some wine and cheese tastings. In addition you can take home the official glass of the event. The fair will start at 10:00 am, but tickets are sold out quickly, so don’t get up too late!

You’ll have an entire day to get to know the new wines from all over Hungary and you don’t even have to leave Budapest. Local cheese producers will complement the wine tastings with their fantastic fresh products!

The easiest way to get there is by public transportation. You just get on Metro 1, which is the oldest underground line of the continent. Get off at Széchenyi Bath and head to the beautiful castle next to the city lake.
